This resort is an All-Adult, All-Inclusive hotel in Cancun and a great choice for a romantic getaway or a trip with lots of exclusives to offer during your stay and gives you the exclusive RIU 24 hour service that is the best. The hotel resort has an elegant style with lots of greenery, palm trees and a courtyard with more than 400 superior category rooms, many of them with unparalleled ocean views that delight your senses enticing you to want more. All the rooms have been sanitized, cleaned and designed to guarantee guests a good night sleep with utmost comfort and entertainment.

When you arrive at the Riu Palace Kukulkan, the welcome received by the personnel is the best as they take us on the red carpet to the reception as Elite Club hospitality that only Riu Palace Kukulkan has in place for their guests. Yes, it’s a separate check-in and check-out.

What is an Elite Club Guest? It is a premium tier of club-level for Junior and full-size suites, the Elite Club category offers RIU’s signature 24-hour all-inclusive service but enhanced.  You will have access to exclusive amenities and VIP status. This is reflected by giving the guests a dedicated wristband and check-in area.  The check-in and check-out for all resort guests is done at the front desk. There is a sign with a separate line to the front desk where Elite Club guests have red-carpet hospitality. I was amazed by the warm welcome given to us on our arrival and everything was set once I gave my name. It was a simple process with great hospitality service. While this was happening a young lady gave us a glass of champagne to sip on as we waited to get room keys and signatures. This made us feel so special. The lobby is beautiful and has a warm romantic feeling.

Once we checked in we went up the elevators to the upper Elite Club rooms. Everything was simple and ready to explore at our leisure. One of the things I found when opening the door was the in-room welcome gifts with a wonderful aroma in the air. There was a welcome letter and a bottle of sparkling wine on ice and two wine glasses in the room which hit the spot. Also, the In-room aromatherapy of eucalyptus filled my senses of happiness and satisfaction. The rooms are delightful and the beds are comfy. The view from the room patio is spectacular as I scan the clear blue waters of Cancun.

The room also has a snack bar service and liquor above a small refrigerator. It also has a candy tray bar containing Kit Kat, granola bar, Pringles chips, and small bags of dried fruit. Elite Club in-room liquor included Jose Cuervo Tequila Reposado, Absolut Vodka, Johnny Walker Black Whiskey, Bombay Sapphire Gin. 

I have eaten in many resorts and I must say that Riu Palace Kukulkan has the best dining food. I tried all 6 restaurants in the hotel and all of them are congregated along a walkway just outside the lobby to the right facing the reception from the Krystal Restaurant, which is buffet style and it was delicious. A la carte restaurants like Krystal do not require reservations at all. If you register as an Elite Club Guest you are able to make dinner reservations when you arrive. If you arrive at an a la carte and they are temporarily full, they will give you a device that will light up when your name is up on their waiting list which is great and waiting is minimal. Krystal service and food was excellent as expected, that’s why I always wind up at this restaurant when I’m staying at a Riu. The buffet was clean and the food is delicious with lots of choices, live cooking stations, and the exquisite chilaquiles for breakfast were my favorite every morning.

Every day I would pass the lobby and see a full-service coffee station where you can order cappuccinos or lattes. That aroma of coffee was an everyday treat for me.

The highlight of the Riu Palace Kukulkan resort is the beach and the beachfront pools. There are four of them and they were so good for the body and soul. They also have activities at the pool and one of them has a swim-up pool bar with its in-pool seating. Every day was pretty busy but so much fun. The infinity pool is great just to lounge around overlooking the beach. Every day is a beautiful day waking up to all wonderful amenities from the bed, bathroom with quality skin care items that will make you want to stay longer. For those people that work remotely, this hotel is perfect for you. You can work out of your Jr. Suite pool area watching the sun come down. Watching the beautiful blue colors of the Mexican Caribbean is priceless.
